Mount Tomor is the most unique mountain in all of Albania, recognized as one of the best places to visit in Albania!
This Albania Tour in Holy mount of Tomor is one of the most spiritual in Albania. It has been revered and respected since ancient times as the mountain where the Pelasgian-Illyrian gods lived.
As Tomori is considered to be the house of the gods, this is the reason why it is called and known as the Holy Mountain, as a mountain that has supernatural powers.
The Pelasgians, Illyrians and Albanians have had and still have their gods and saints. All faith traditions throughout Albanian history have sacred reverence for Mount Tomori.
The height and grandeur of this mountain, its extent and appearance, the reverence as a sacred mountain created the perfect environment for such a powerful cult of faith that an oath to Baba Tomori has been and has more power than an oath on the Qur'an or on the Bible.
When Paganism gave way to Christianity, the faithful erected a Christian shrine in honour of St. Mary at the top of the mountain.

Things You Should Bring on the offroad
- Backpack;
- Appropriate footwear. Hiking shoes;
- Sun cream, sunglasses and a hat;
- Camera.
BONUS: Trash Bag. This 5th piece of gear is essential to making sure that the trails you love stay beautiful for generations to come. A zip lock bag is a great option as well for keeping the trash you pick up along the trail separate from the rest of your gear.
Meeting point – Hotel Castle Park, Berat. We can come and pick you up in any hotel or guest house in Berat.
We drive to Pronovik village for about 45 min in the asphalted road. Than we start the offroad for about 1,5 hours. During the drive we do the first stop in the Abaz Ali foot print, later we visit the Bektashi Tekke and the tomb of Abaz Ali where the mountain reaches the highest peak.
We will have a picnic lunch with local products. Than we drive back to Berat city and visit the Nurellary winery where we will have a wine tasting.

The trip fare doesn’t include coffee and any kind of drink except water during the picnic lunch. You’ll have extra activities (optional tour) if you choose them, and you’ll probably feel like tipping your guides at the end of a fabulous trip, though you won’t need to pull out your wallet every few minutes on your Albania Rafting Group adventure tour.
We’re really flexible and none of our itineraries are written in stone, so if you have a particular interest you’d like to include or you need to leave a trip earlier or join later (at a pro-rated fare), just let us know and we can almost always make it happen. Likewise, all adventure travel requires a certain amount of flexibility and we sometimes have to make minor changes to the activities because of weather and availability, but we have plenty of options up our sleeve.
Our trips in Albania do not provide high level of difficulty, but every visitor should consider:
- Be healthy and have consulted the doctor during the year.
- In absolute terms, the person should not have diseases and complications following:
- Cardiac disease of any kind
- Hypertension
- Flake out or lose of feeling of any kind
- Problems of the spine and muscular system that reduce the physical possibility of safety.
- Problems with breathing apparatus
- Nerve Problems
- Problems with eyes (severe myopia, retinal detachment, glaucoma)
- Be under the influence of pharmaceutical drugs, drugs, alcohol.
! Kindly keep all your clothes and personal belongings in a backpack, which can be easily transported on minivan.
