The largest in the Mediterranean Sea with a surface of 222 square km, the lagoon of Karavasta offers a great diversity of birds and plant species, being absolutely one of the Best Tours in Albania!
The great importance of this park comes mainly from the endangered and extremely rare species of Dalmatian Pelican, which 5% of the world population lays in this area. This protected and untouched lagoon offers to all his visitors the perfect escape from the noise of the city and to all birdwatchers the perfect chance to have a close look at one of the rarest bird species still existing.
Overview
Meeting point - If you are staying in Berat, you can come to the Castle Park Hotel or we can pick u up down the city at a desirable place, if not the meeting point is going to be at Divjake Karavasta Tourists Office @ 10 a.m.
In our 4x4 cars we are going to travel to the western part of the lagoon for about 30 minutes.
After we prepare the equipment we are going to kayak and swim in the lagoon for 2-2,5 hours.
You will have the chance to look at the increasingly dominant pine trees and sandy dunes that surround the area. Bird watching- while kayaking the Dalmatian pelican is going to be right in front of us, although we cannot pass the designated area because their sensibility is quite high and they get scared easily they will still be very near us.
A walk of 1 hour to the observation point of the lagoon will take place. From there we will reach the watch tower and enjoy a 360 degree view of all the lagoon and areas around.

Our trips in Albania do not provide high level of difficulty, but every visitor should consider:
- Be healthy and have consulted the doctor during the year.
- In absolute terms, the person should not have diseases and complications following:
- Cardiac disease of any kind
- Hypertension
- Flake out or lose of feeling of any kind
- Problems of the spine and muscular system that reduce the physical possibility of safety.
- Problems with breathing apparatus
- Nerve Problems
- Problems with eyes (severe myopia, retinal detachment, glaucoma)
- Be under the influence of pharmaceutical drugs, drugs, alcohol.
! Kindly keep all your clothes and personal belongings in a backpack, which can be easily transported on minivan.

Everything that it is not mention on the scheduled trip is not included, such is: coffee, other kind of drinks or other foods. Although you are going to feel like tipping the guides at the end of a beautiful trip, we don’t want you pulling out the wallet every minute.

SUV trip to the western part of the Lagoon (about 30 min) and preparation to start the kayaking adventure.
2-2,5 hours paddling and swimming into the lagoon and sightseeing the Mediterranean Pine Forest near the Karavasta lagoon, and it contains one of the most interesting faunas of the country. Bird Watching. Divjake-Karavasta area provides the special conditions for accommodation of a number of plant communities and animal species, among which many of them are at risk of extinction in the world such as Pelican (Pelicanus crispus Bruch).
After the kayaking we jump to the car and go to taste e delicious local lunch (fish food based but also meet upon request). After lunch we go for 1 hour walking to the first observation point of the Lagoon and later we jump to the watchtower to have a sightseeing of the whole Lagoon.
For the present activity you should love the outdoors, own good health condition and have consulted the doctor during the year. Kids over 5 years old are very welcomed.
