About This Tour

The Vjosa River Kayaking and Packrafting Tour in Përmet is a chance to experience one of Europe’s last wild rivers at water level, moving slowly through landscapes that have remained unchanged for thousands of years. Known as the Blue Heart of Europe, the Vjosa flows freely between mountains, carving wide valleys, gravel islands, and crystal-clear channels that feel far removed from modern life.

This tour is not about speed or competition. It’s about immersion. Paddling along calm stretches of the river allows you to fully take in the silence, the shifting colors of the water, and the raw beauty of a river that has never been dammed or regulated. Surrounded by the natural scenery of the Përmet region, you’ll experience the Vjosa in its purest form, peaceful, powerful, and alive.

The Vjosa River Kayaking and Packrafting Tour in Përmet is ideal for travelers who want a gentle adventure that combines nature, water, and space to breathe. Whether you choose kayaking or packrafting, the experience offers a rare opportunity to explore Europe’s only Wild River National Park from the inside, guided by professionals who know the river intimately and respect its rhythm.

It’s an experience that stays with you, not because it overwhelms you, but because it slows you down.

Kayaking trips in Albania are generally easy and suitable for beginners, especially on calm river sections. Most guests with a normal level of fitness and comfort around water find the experience relaxed and enjoyable.

For everyone’s comfort and safety, participants should feel well on the day of the activity and able to take part in light physical movement. Kayaking may not be suitable in certain situations, such as during pregnancy or if something could affect balance, awareness, or overall comfort on the water.

Participation is not permitted under the influence of alcohol, recreational substances, or medication that may impair coordination or judgment.

For low-difficulty sections (Class II, typically from June to October), there are no age or weight limits, making this experience accessible to a wide range of travelers.
